The horse in the room: from automation, to transformation.

In our previous posts, we described the “horse in the room”: how much of existing contract tech perpetuates old ways of doing things, and fails to truly transform an old fashioned and even broken process.

At Majoto, we are not automating the horse. We are building a motorcar (and ultimately an electric sportscar or maybe a personal drone… but let’s start simple).

Majoto approaches contracts with a completely new paradigm: contracts as living, digitally native, useful business tools. Majoto is not only more affordable and more accessible, but also better because it challenges convention and does things that nobody else has dared to do so far.

Here’s how.

Not Word

Unlike all other products on the market, we have taken contracts out of Word (and GoogleDocs, and their functional equivalents) and put them into a custom tool which is more functional and expandable This opens up smarter ways of visualising contract content and allows the integration of tools (playbooks, negotiation, business process tools) in a way that’s difficult with existing contract tech.

(Re)designed

Majoto is not just tech: it is a holistic solution that builds in optional contract re-design - as simple or as radical as you want it. An optimised contract within Majoto puts the business end first and enables targeted content to be presented in bite-sized pieces to the right business users. Majoto encourages and enables contracts to be re-designed to work better.

Less rigid workflow

We don’t want to take “dead” content, build rigid workflow around it and try to make it all idiot-proof. We have opted for a more flexible model, because we don’t think our customers are idiots. And because our starting point is fundamentally more functional. This results in a system that we believe is more engaging and flexible, yet still super simple.

Collaborative by design

Majoto is built to encourage collaborative realtime negotiation. What’s more, our negotiation tool is designed to focus on aligning on points of principle rather than detailed red-lining.

Structured

Contracts in Majoto start and finish as structured data - without the use of proprietary coding languages, and with less (or zero) need to manually create smart clauses or objects. This means uers can get actionable data with less effort.

Beyond contracts

Majoto is not just about the contract. We’re building integrated tools and workflows which help achieve the business activity that underlies the contract, and help out with internal alignment and reporting. Because contracts are meant to be business tools, not an end in themselves.

Building the motorcar

These are some of the reasons why we say that Majoto is a new paradigm, to move you forward, not just faster. Our ultimate objective is to encourage more efficient behaviours, help businesses build relationships and trust with their partners, and to make contracting a more human and happier experience - for everyone.
